Why not start with Raft Improver Course?

If you have been on at least one raft trip and are interested in learning some of the skills involved in guiding a raft then we have a two day course just for you.

Over the course of a weekend we introduce you to raft guiding skills, white water safety and rescue techniques and give you a background to rafts, qualifications and etiquette. We will try to get onto a selection of rivers to give you as much experience as possible, but as ever in Scotland we have to work around weather conditions and therefore water levels at the time of the course. We usually run these courses during autumn and winter to maximise the chances for higher water levels.

For only £170 per person we provide all food and accommodation for the 2 days, plus expert tuition on rafting, including 2 evening seminars. The course starts at 7pm on the first night (usually Friday) and runs until approximately 5pm on the second day.

Can I gain a Raft Guide Qualification? Yes you can. You need some experience which can be gained on our improver courses and then you can sit 6 day a Scottish Rafting Association Guide Course. On passing this course you will be able to guide a raft professionally and work in the industry. This qualification is now recognised all over the world because the Scottish Rafting Association is recognised and affiliated to the International Rafting Federation.
